Dassanayke: Missing Pacers & Exposure?
When Nepal went into the ICC World Twnety20 Qualifiers they were the bottom most seeded teams. All the teams were had played Div 3 or above, Nepal had the highest as Div 4. Nepal was considered a better team in the ODI format and were not expected to make much impact in the T20 format .

Off late, two cricket news made into headlines. Shakti Guachan’s trial at the Rajasthan Royals and Paras Khadka’s signing for a Canadian cricket club to play in there for four months. Both were like fresh air for the Nepalese cricket community. In fact, these news rounded up substantially successful year of 2011 for our cricket. However, perceptions were in sharp contrast. Hypes were presented in different ways. Even the players in the limelight perceived their achievements in contrasting manners. Shakti was more emotional while Paras remained remarkably laid back.
Appreciating performance as an underdog to giant killing acts
Cricket pundits were eyeing Nepal to be at the bottom of the table to its utter dismay; Nepal snatches its place within top 7. Below par performance in Acc T20 is the testimony that Nepal is still immature with the shorter version of the game and even former coach Roy Luke Dias has out rightly pinpointed that T20 format is not for Nepal But, coach Pubudu had a strong faith on his side that by the time and again they will adjust within the format of the game.

Batting woes continue
After the first two matches of Nepal in the group stage, first thing that strikes every fans mind is the query on how long will it take for Nepal’s batting to improve beyond the ridicule that has almost jinxed the team. Batting display has made everyone disappointed. Nepal almost made a mockery of a run chase when they crawled to 115/8 in the first game against Hongkong.
