Off late, two cricket news made into headlines. Shakti Guachan’s trial at the Rajasthan Royals and Paras Khadka’s signing for a Canadian cricket club to play in there for four months. Both were like fresh air for the Nepalese cricket community. In fact, these news rounded up substantially successful year of 2011 for our cricket. However, perceptions were in sharp contrast. Hypes were presented in different ways. Even the players in the limelight perceived their achievements in contrasting manners. Shakti was more emotional while Paras remained remarkably laid back.

Cricket pundits were eyeing Nepal to be at the bottom of the table to its utter dismay; Nepal snatches its place within top 7. Below par performance in Acc T20 is the testimony that Nepal is still immature with the shorter version of the game and even former coach Roy Luke Dias has out rightly pinpointed that T20 format is not for Nepal But, coach Pubudu had a strong faith on his side that by the time and again they will adjust within the format of the game.

Fiji succumbed to the excellence of Nepal's bowlers and lost the match by a huge margin of 193 runs.

It was a match that would seal the final spot for Nepal in the Pepsi ICC Div 5 tournament. Nepal batted first and amassed a huge total riding high on half century from skipper Paras Khadka and a brilliant century from Sharad Vesawkar. Fiji succumbed to the excellence of Nepal's bowlers and lost the match by a huge margin of 193 runs.
